Alexis Clausell is a Certified Birth, Postpartum, and Fertility doula based in Chicago, Illinois. Alexis carries her open heart into her care for families with an understanding of the connection between the physical, emotional and spiritual. She finds fulfillment in her gift of deep intuitive feeling which helps her attune herself to the energy of her clients. This is able to help provide upstanding care specific to her client's and their baby's needs.
Alexis has had a passion for birth work from a young age. Her own mother's traumatic experience giving birth to her younger brother was her inspiration to begin this journey. She has always had a desire to be a caretaker, and that role came naturally to her. This led her to become a Certified Nursing Assistant at eighteen years old. She has gained healthcare experience working in nursing homes, hospitals, and home health. She graduated with a degree in Public Health from Indiana State University in 2022, and later that year decided to become a doula.
In 2023, Alexis officially started working hands on with doula care. Initially, working with families of a lower income status. She has provided care to families of all different backgrounds and family dynamics. She creates an environment for her clients that focuses on peace, safety and emotional fulfillment. With her strong empathetic nature, she understands how important mental health is and how this effects so much in a parent's life. Alexis is currently taking coursework to become a Certified Lactation Educator and works part-time in the Mother Baby Unit at Northwestern Hospital.
In her free time, Alexis loves to read, practice yoga and meditation, and spend time in nature. She is a lover of nature and all animals, which includes spending quality time with her dog, and previously volunteering at an adoption center for cats.
My hope for you is that you are able to welcome new life with joy and peace. I hope to be able to help you stay grounded and confident in your skills to care for your baby with love and wisdom.
