Briana Bromfield started her journey in birth and maternal health back in 2015 when she took her first doula course with CAPPA. The year after that she took a Midwifery Assistant training course in Amherst, MA, furthering her desire to move forward in the field of nursing and midwifery. In 2019, she traveled to Kona, Hawai’i, starting her first apprenticeship as a midwifery student. While there, she assisted with her first homebirth as a student assistant as well as assisted with prenatal and postpartum care. She enrolled in Chamberlain University to finish her nursing education.
Briana's goals for her calling in maternal health care are to eventually help to lead and manage maternal health practices and even each in order to educate the next generation of maternal health care workers as there is and will always be a need for more and more maternal healthcare workers including doulas, midwives, lactation consultants, monitrices, and nurses in order to help new families during this profoundly transformational time in their lives! She looks forward in serving you and your family in order for your recovery to be smooth, educational, peaceful, restful, beautiful, and memorable for you to experience the amazing blessing of parenthood!
Essential and transformational! My approach to care is to listen to the mother's and baby's needs first, both biologically, intuitively and practically, pay close attention to what is said and unsaid, truly connecting to the mother and child in order to give them the best possible recovery! That is how I approach my work: with compassion and understanding. I love this calling because I am able to support families in such a crucial, fragile, yet important part of their lives.
