Since 2018, Ciara Reese has supported growing Dallas-Fort Worth families as a birth and postpartum doula. She received her B.A in Psychology from Spelman College and Masters in Professional Counseling from Texas Wesleyan University.
As a mental-health advocate and doula, Ciara strives to normalize mental health experiences both prenatally and during the chaotic transition into parenthood. Ciara believes education, unwavering support and holding space for women to speak their truth are essential in the fight against the decline of maternal mental health. Resulting in women who are able to courageously embrace the journey of motherhood by relearning themselves as the women God crafted them to be.
A nurturer at heart, by age seven Ciara’s hobbies included taking her Barbie dolls to school, crafting fancy grilled cheese sandwiches and binge- watching TLC’s “A Baby Story” on weekends with her mom. By age 10 Ciara attended three births of family members which reinforced her passion to be in as many birth rooms as possible.
When Ciara is not supporting families or playing patty-cake with her toddler son, she is spending time with her husband and large family. As an act of self- care, Ciara indulges in seasons of Master Chef getting tutored by Chef Gordon Ramsey and his fellow guest judges.
“Every child comes with the message that God is not yet discouraged of us.” I wholeheartedly believe this. Children posses the hope we all need, but sometimes we need help to see that hope and know we are worthy of them. My desire is to be the calm coach along side you as you take the journey of a lifetime to become who you were mint to be all along.
