Bio

Crystal Arrington (she/her) is a Full – Spectrum Doula born and raised on the south side of Chicago. Crystal brings her passion for advocacy, communication and whole person care with her into the sacred spaces of birth and postpartum care.

Serving has always been a part of Crystal’s life and when she saw that people were in need of compassion and support, she looked into ways she could be of service. Crystal began working with families in their homes around 2016. This sparked her interest in the birth work community where her journey began with community group meetings. As a Postpartum nanny, Crystal began to see first-hand just how important quality postpartum care is. So, she sought out ways she could help.

Crystal completed her Full-Spectrum Doula Training with Doula Trainings International’s (DTI) training program. Alongside her work in the birth worker community, she is a trained singer. Crystal believes that being an artist helps her approach the world in a way that most would not. She utilizes her musical abilities, knowledge of the body, and training as a part of all her care practices.

Message to new parents

Since before I could remember I knew that I wanted to serve others and be an advocate in some capacity. When I experienced firsthand what could happen when people didn’t have someone standing with them to support them and hold sacred space, I realized that this is what I wanted to do & where I wanted to be. I could be the person that could help someone else realize what had taken me a long time to learn. I could show them that their voice mattered. Helping them realize that even in spaces where others may try to take control, we are our own biggest advocate. Why? because we know our bodies better than anyone. Learning to really hear our bodies makes it easier for us to support one another and show up as our best selves.

I hope that we can partner together in the future to provide you and your family with the best care.
