Danyale Washington is a DONA-trained postpartum doula, certified sleep consultant, and CAPPA-trained new parent educator based in Chicago, IL. With over 10 years of experience as a seasoned childcare worker, she has supported families of all kinds throughout her tenure. Danyale has a special affinity for those who are in their second or subsequent pregnancies, and she loves helping the entire family adjust, including siblings.
Danyale's primary concern is supporting families at the times they need it most and in the ways they need it most. Every parent, whether they’ve been around the block or are just stepping into the parenting stage, deserves unwavering support. Previous families have said she brings a calming and vibrant spirit to a time that can seem quite daunting and chaotic. Danyale strives to help create the balance and peace everyone deserves, especially during the postpartum period.
Danyale became a doula because, while we celebrate the miracle of childbirth, we often overlook life beyond it. She recognizes the need for continuous support and the village that families crave but struggle to find. As a doula, her ultimate goal is to be that village, the missing piece in the puzzle of parenthood. Danyale is dedicated to guiding families through this delicate and precious time, navigating the postpartum waters with grace and expertise.
Danyale loves being a doula because of the privilege of witnessing tender moments and helping families thrive during one of the most extraordinary chapters of their lives. It's about filling those essential gaps and ensuring families have the support they deserve. Being a doula means being an ally, advocate, and rock for the families she serves. There is nothing more rewarding to her than supporting families during this critical time.
I like to think of myself as a serial support specialist, I am always looking for new/better ways to support children and families because our society as a whole, falls a bit short in that department and I want to do my part to change that!
