Ruth Hoekwater is a DONA-trained postpartum doula, a mother of three, and a grandmother to four, based in Chicago, IL. She has been married to her husband, John, for over 45 years. Throughout her life, Ruth has lived abroad, built homes for Habitat for Humanity, fostered children who traveled internationally for life-saving surgeries, and opened and managed a community coffee shop in her neighborhood for almost 13 years. She also nannied two of her grandchildren from birth to school age, nurturing them with love and care.
A natural people-person, Ruth loves meeting new clients and learning their stories to support them as best as she can. Her extensive experience with multiples and women with mild to severe postpartum depression has equipped her with the skills and compassion needed to help families navigate the challenges of early parenthood. Ruth’s nurturing nature and dedication to her clients make her a trusted and reliable support for families during the postpartum period.
