Sara Fina is a Doula, Certified Professional Midwife, and Certified Doula Trainer with over 20 years of experience supporting families during their pregnancy and post-partum journey.
Sara has worked in a variety of settings including home, birth-center, and hospitals. She has the unique experience working as part of clinical care teams of OBs and CNMs as a Staff Doula with Providence St. Vincent Hospital in Portland, OR; where she was trained to provide continuous Doula support to mom's during labors, c-sections, and postpartum. She has also worked as a Postpartum Midwife in various Birth Centers to support moms in the immediate 48 hours after birth and through the first 6 weeks postpartum.
As a mentor and trainer to birth-workers, Sara has facilitated training for over 500 Doulas and Midwives with Birthingway College, SMC Doulas, the Oregon Health Authority, and National College of Midwifery, as well as many more conferences and workshops. For families Sara facilitates birth education workshops, including Birthing from Within, Centering Pregnancy, and her own branded curriculum Balanced Birth.
Sara will always respect your individual desires, needs, and experience. Every journey is unique, and Sara provides her clients with calming grounded reassurance that is cultivated from her deep understanding of the physiology of pregnancy, labor, and birth; as well as the principles of somatic body work and trauma-informed care. Sara's training and skills include wisdom about herbal and natural remedies, lactation support, newborn care, c-section recovery, natural labor and birth, acupressure for pregnancy, labor, and birth, perinatal massage, infant massage, perinatal cranio-sacral therapy, and cranio-sacral therapy for newborns and infants, and more!
Sara is also a mother of 5 beautiful children, born naturally at home, in the water at birth-centers, and even by life saving c-section! She is a baby whisperer, and can teach you all kinds of tricks for you and your baby's health and happiness!
In her free time she loves reading, writing, swimming, painting, and cooking.
